Hi there! If you are just starting your healing journey.. you have come to the right place. My name is Carley, and I have been on my healing journey for a little over 3 years. It took a long time for me to come to terms with my past, and what had happened to me. How to begin reconnecting with your inner child

Healing your inner child is so important. Your inner child will continue to negatively affect your life until they feel heard. In order to heal, you will need to figure out what triggers you into flight or fight or freeze.

One of my triggers that I noticed… when my daughters choose to not listen. Instead of… doing what my parents would have done which would have been a slap to the face or a spanking… while also being screamed at simultaneously.. instead I start taking deep breaths so I can calm myself down before addressing the problem. Hearing them cry.. send my body into flight or fight. Crying was not acceptable in my house. Nor was positive communication. Any time I tried to ask a question.. I was reprimanded for talking back. Which then of course taught me that asking questions is not okay.. my apologies for ranting. But what I am saying is as a parent.. our child’s mirror our behavior. If you are lashing out instead of calming approaching the situation.. it will just be a chaotic mess. It will also please your inner child when you calmly approach the situation. Assure yourself that you are in charge, and no one is going to get hurt or treated the way you were treated.
